Presentation of the Socio-Cultural Center of St. Louis
The Socio-Cultural Centre of Saint-Louis was born October 6, 1971 during the renovation of the station district, to establish that complex equipment home with young children, and thus enable the creation and management of the first Crèche Ludovicienne in a newly built apartment. It was then the Association Ludovicienne Services for Children, renamed in December 1972 Ludovicienne Association for Family Services following the extension of its activities and the opening of new premises of approximately 140 m2 the basement of 5-7, Place de la Gare.
In 1973, following a survey indicating the type of activities to be undertaken to meet the needs of residents, the Association obtained the approval of Social Center, and affiliated with the Federation of Social Centers of the High Rhine.
April 1993 marks the first expansion of the daycare center, and moved into our new premises located at 4, Charles City Kroepflé, is also our head office until March 5, 2008, and occupies about half the size of the building.
The redesign of our statutes in March 1994 in particular led to the withdrawal of our Association of the Federation of Social Centers of the Upper Rhine.
Since September 2002, said Crèche has been transformed into an institution and care services for children under six, commonly known as Multi-Home Escargotine and has occupied the entire space 4, Charles City Kroepflé.
It should also be noted that since that date, ie September 2002, all of our home entertainment takes place at 56 Rue du Dr. Marcel Hurst in the district of Saint-Louis BOURGFELDEN.
To better meet the needs of our users and to ensure better coverage of the territory of the City of St. Louis was opened on 1 January 2004 a section of home entertainment in the premises of the house for communal All "Albert Schweitzer" B 15, Rue de Strasbourg in the district of Saint-Louis Neuweg.
September 2006 marked the creation and opening of our first section of OSP breast 56, Rue du Dr. Marcel Hurst for the Saint-Louis BOURGFELDEN.
In the same spirit of improving the quality of our business and in order to provide a local service on the entire territory Ludovicien, our downtown historically situated 5-7, Place de la Gare have been transferred and integrated into new premises also more spacious communal available to us at 10, Rue des Pres in St. Louis since 1 April 2007, primarily to accommodate our language section of French as a Foreign Language as well as the hospitality recreation and support to schooling.
For the administration and other services of the Association, they are deployed at 56 Rue du Dr. Marcel Hurst in St. Louis since become March 5, 2008 our new headquarters.
It should also be noted that in order to build us a better visual identity and to give more visibility to all of our activities, it was decided to apply from 11 June 2008 the name: Socio-Cultural Centre St. Louis' Espace des Lys "to our Association.
According to its statutes, the Socio-Cultural Center of St. Louis is an association governed by the law of 1908, non-profit. This is an equipment which must be carried out social actions, family and sociocultural available to residents of the City of St. Louis and surrounding areas. It is open to all persons, groups or associations of social, family, education and culture. It promotes social ties and support the family as a whole in collaboration with all partners interested in the realization of educational, cultural, sports and arts.
Its animation is provided by a team of social workers under the responsibility of the Board of the Association.
In addition to services for young children developed by the Multi-section Home Escargotine, it is implementing, among others, the following actions:
- On the social and family economics.
- Language training in French language.
- Of sewing and a creative workshop.
- Various social activities.
- Accompanying the school.
- Of welcomes leisure without accommodation, Wednesdays during school hours and each period of school holidays.
- An OSP breast, morning, noon and night and primary only in the evening.
- Yoga classes.
- Dance classes.
Our main resources come from grants from our partners, namely:
- The City of St. Louis.
- The Family Allowances Fund of the Upper Rhine.
- The General Council of the Upper Rhine.
- The European Social Fund.
- The National Agency for Social Cohesion and Equal Opportunity (ACSE).
- The Community of Municipalities of the three countries.
The balance of the budget comes from funds of the Association.
